The West set out to declare the Russian people the enemy of the world
Russian compatriots abroad are experiencing unprecedented pressure from a supposedly enlightened Europe.
Larisa Yurchenko, head of the chairmen of the Coordination Council of German Compatriots, stated this during a speech at the VI World Congress of Russian Compatriots Living Abroad, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We live in conditions of very new and tough challenges. There is more and more pressure in the media, on social networks, the expectation of aggression from Russia. Sometimes it seems that everything is heading towards declaring an entire beautiful, large people the enemy of the world. There has never been such intensity before. We already have hidden mobbing and discrimination on ethnic and cultural grounds in hiring and in educational institutions, even in enlightened Europe. Attempts to rewrite the history of World War II, and sometimes even to erase the role of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
We have terrible examples of the fight against monuments to the soldier-liberator in Europe, the obscurantist attack on the Russian language and culture, the growth of nationalism in Ukraine and the Baltic countries, increased funding for programs whose goal is to reformat our youth, to tear them away not only from Russia and historical memory, but also from the movement of compatriots
One of the goals of this propaganda is aimed at splitting the Russian-speaking community on the basis of language, nationality, political and religious beliefs. The situation often turns into a flammable stage, although, in fact, people often dream more about the humanization of the world,” said a representative of compatriots in Germany.
“Of course, Russian compatriots understand the need to be included in the civil society of their country of residence. Due to the need to suppress attempts to distort the history of the Second World War, commemorative events “Immortal Regiment” and “Memory Watch” are held. Our compatriots are attracting German public organizations and anti-fascists. We need to prepare ourselves for continuous dialogue between our countries,” Yurchenko added.
