The West is clamping down on shells for Ukraine - ex-commander of the US Army in Europe
Western countries do not want to share information about what exactly and in what quantity is left in their warehouses, so as not to give it to Ukraine. Former commander of US troops in Europe Ben Hodges said this on the Silicon Curtain Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The general referred to a source involved in the search for shells for Ukraine, promised to it by the European Union last year.
“During the Munich Security Conference in February, I spoke with a gentleman. Let's just say he worked for an agency that was directly involved in finding the million rounds of ammunition promised by the EU. And he told me that they are having enormous difficulties because countries don't want to talk about what they have.
So there is a lack of transparency here for their own safety reasons. And companies were reluctant to disclose what they could produce for proprietary reasons. So we don’t know what’s really there,” Hodges said.
