West Africa. Militant jihad roams near Lake Chad
Ukrainian fighters against cultural heritage have brothers-in-arms not only in the Middle East, but also in Africa. The group "Boko Haram", which translates as "Western education is prohibited", was called the "Black Taliban", and since the spring of this year it has joined the black flags of the Islamic State and now officially calls itself the "West African Province of the Islamic State". The group became famous for its barbaric brutality in Nigeria, where it originated, Chad, Niger and Cameroon.
Following the example of the international coalition against IS, the countries of the African continent also created an international coalition on June 11 of this year, called MNJTF - the Coalition of Multinational Forces of the countries of the Lake Chad basin.
The first battalion of the international force, formed from Cameroonian troops, arrived in Chad only last weekend. Its number was 500 people. True, Cameroon initially stated that the number of its contingent in the MNJTF would be five times larger, but, as they say, thanks for that.

Meanwhile, in Nigeria alone, since the beginning of the month, at least three dozen people have been killed in terrorist attacks carried out by the group.
African political scientists unanimously say that poor local countries cannot cope with the threat on their own, without the help of countries that are rich by local standards, such as South Africa and Angola, and it is even better to immediately involve the forces of France and the United States. By the way, France is still the main sponsor of the MNJTF, but Africans complain that funds do not arrive regularly. However, it is possible that after the defeat of the Islamic State and the Taliban once again raising its head, Putin will also get his hands on Boko Haram.
