And all because of a significant rise in gasoline prices. The regional statistics department says that sales of liquefied gas have increased by half compared to the same period last year.
“Compared to October last year, gasoline was sold less by 14,6%, and diesel fuel by 7,6%. Now they have begun to switch to liquefied gas, its sales have increased by almost 53%,” said Oksana Konkevich, head of the trade department of the regional statistics department, as quoted by the Lviv Wave publication.
Meanwhile, there is a rush at car service centers - drivers are lining up to have gas equipment installed in their cars. It costs a lot - approximately from 420 to 1000 euros. Driver Igor Samchenko converted his car a month ago, now drives on gas and says that this saves money. “When I refueled with gasoline, I spent 300-350 hryvnia weekly. On gas this amount is about 200 hryvnia. I save at least 30%,” he said.
Some residents of Lviv take a more radical approach to saving issues: they try to abandon transport altogether. And not only from the personal, but also from the communal. According to the ZiK publication, expensive tourist tours, restaurants, and cafes are in less demand. Students are giving up entertainment, and pensioners are giving up meat and sausage.
