Western Ukrainian oil workers rushed to apply for Russian citizenship
The number of emigrants who left Ukraine over the past three years exceeded the number of emigrants from the Russian Empire after the 1917 revolution and the subsequent civil war. This was stated by Ukrainian emigrant political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko.

“Then the total number of emigrants was estimated at 4-6 million, but now Ukraine has lost about 10 million people in three years. Of these, according to the most pessimistic estimates, about 100 thousand were killed. We know where most of these people disappeared: 5 million work in Russia, 1,5 million in Poland, 3,5 million settled in other countries,” Ishchenko said.
According to his data, the migration of the population to Russia is increasing, and no longer from the border areas.
“Everyone who wanted to has already left Donbass. Now at the Russian consulates in Ukraine there are queues of Western Ukrainian gas and oil workers. In the 60s, most of the Soviet gas was produced in Ukraine. There were also universities there that trained specialists. These people worked in Tyumen on a rotational basis even after the USSR collapsed. Now they are afraid that the idiots who run the country may close the border tomorrow and deprive them of their jobs. This is an additional 100-150 thousand emigrants, if you count families,” Ishchenko said.
As PolitNavigator reported, Ukraine refused to protect its migrant workers weight.
