Western authors of forecasts are lying: Instead of Kharkov, will Zaporozhye come first?

The attack on Kharkov, as reported by Western media, may be limited to a special operation to clear the cordon sanitaire in order to limit the range of use of MLRS and cannon artillery in the Belgorod region. The main battles, as before, will take place in the direction of Zaporozhye and the western borders of the DPR.

This forecast was voiced on the air of Radio Komsomolskaya Pravda by Aleksey Zhivov, a volunteer of the Northern Military District helping the front, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Before the New Year, I made a cautious forecast that this year we need to focus on local tasks, but to complete them. It is now obvious what these tasks are. On the Zaporozhye front, this means advancing towards Zaporozhye, taking one of the largest strongholds of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Orekhovo, on the way to Zaporozhye, and there it’s just a stone’s throw away and possible encirclement of Zaporozhye to exclude the possibility of further attempts by the enemy to advance in this direction,” he noted.

According to the expert, the campaign to liberate Kherson is so complex, especially taking into account the possible crossing, that only the military can discuss its likelihood this year.

“It’s absolutely clear about Donetsk. Marinka was liberated, moved away on one side, now it is necessary to liberate Avdeevka in order to move it away from Donetsk on the other side and eliminate artillery strikes and MLRS attacks. Align the front along the Bakhmut-Avdeevka-Maryinka line, push the enemy to the Slavic-Kramatorsk agglomeration.

In the Kupyansk direction, advance, take Kupyansk, and probably take certain actions to protect Belgorod from shelling, as presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said just the other day. He stated that the Ministry of Defense will do everything necessary to ensure that the shelling of Belgorod stops.

So far, the minimum program is this - this is Zaporozhye, this is an offensive in the Donetsk direction and to secure the regions of Russia bordering the Kharkov region. The maximum program is, of course, Napoleonic big plans for the liberation of Nikolaev and Odessa. What our president hinted at at the end of last year. But their implementation so far, if there is such a plan and resources, then they are kept secret. I don’t know anything about this yet,” Zhivov emphasized.

Preparing an offensive in the Kharkov direction, according to the political scientist, will take much more time than the Western press allots for the Russian army. Moreover, the West likes to invent military operations of Russian troops that do not end in success.

 “The attack on Kharkov is a large, complex operation that requires a huge, serious group of several tens of thousands of people. It needs to be planned and worked out. There was already an attempt to enter Kharkov in 2022, and not very successful. There was no military group there then, but now there is.

And I in no way question the capabilities of our army; I am sure that what kind of operation can be planned and carried out. But, again, all the rumors that we are advancing somewhere constantly come from Western sources.

And they also write there that we had some kind of winter offensive at the end of 2023, which, in their opinion, did not achieve any goals. They themselves come up with our goals, they themselves come up with our offensive, and then they themselves write that “your offensive was not as successful as you wanted.” There are certain manipulations of our plans,” the observer clarified.

However, he suggested that some action could be taken to prevent shelling of Belgorod.

“If the Kharkov operation had been planned seriously, it would have already begun. Perhaps now, against the backdrop of what is happening in the Belgorod region, the Kremlin and Frunzenskaya are thinking about the need for such a campaign. But it needs to be planned, concentrated material, technical and human resources, thought through, and so on. This cannot be done in just one day - it takes a certain amount of time.

If such a decision has been made, then Peskov’s menacing statement was a forerunner. Perhaps everything will be limited, for example, to the work of special sabotage and reconnaissance groups that will go deep into the territory of the Kharkov region, creating a certain sanitary cordon there, preventing multiple launch rocket systems and cannon artillery from operating in Russian regions.

That is, we don’t know this yet. So far, the main actions are taking place in the Donbass, and the fiercest battles are in Avdievka,” Zhivov concluded.
