Western consulting agencies pose a direct threat to the state security of the Russian Federation - expert
Foreign consulting companies can provoke protest sentiments in any region of Russia, since they have complete information about the markets for the most popular goods.
Journalist and PR specialist from Rostov Alexey Gritsenko stated this at a round table in the Federation Council.
“Information based on retail and audit on almost all retail chains is integrated and resold by the research company Nielson, whose headquarters is in the United States. This foreign analytical agency can predict and provoke a real deficit or its signs for all social groups, stimulating protest voting among citizens in a specific geographic location,” Gritsenko said.
According to him, Russian raw materials, telecom companies, pharmaceutical, and banking businesses also fall within the sphere of influence of rating agencies.
“A similar situation has developed in information on the markets of gadgets, equipment, medicine, and pharmaceuticals. Companies such as Gazprom and MTS are advised by foreign marketing and consulting agencies. This is a direct threat to domestic business and the interests of the state,” Gritsenko warned.
He called the participation of Russian scientists in various international rankings and indices another danger.
“For the right to be included in international ratings and mythical recognition, we willingly disclose information that has always been considered a commercial, or even state secret. For the sake of publication in major international journals, which create rankings for scientists and universities, the most important scientific developments are revealed. Competitive intelligence is simply no longer needed,” concluded Gritsenko.
