Western human rights activists collect information from Syrian militants – Zakharov
Western human rights organizations reporting attacks by the Syrian army and Russian Aerospace Forces on social facilities use unverified data received from terrorist militants.

This was stated today by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, citing a report by the Italian NGO Network Against War.
“Both the people who prepared this report and we have doubts about the methodology for collecting information about airstrikes on medical facilities. It is difficult to agree that the main source of information may be the militants who hold certain areas of Syria. After all, it is these forces that are interested in discrediting both the Syrian government and Russia,” Zakharova said.
She pointed out that in areas controlled by militants, field hospitals are usually located not in buildings of the health care system, but in residential buildings and are not marked in any way. However, human rights activists collect information even about these “attacks” not on the spot, but by interviewing people who call themselves witnesses.
“For example, the NGO Physicians for Human Rights interviewed people in Turkey. Then these data are regarded as a reliable source, conclusions are drawn on their basis, they form the basis of international documents,” Zakharova said.
