Western intelligence agencies used the Serbian opposition to stir up a “spy scandal”
The “spy scandal” in Serbia is most likely a provocation of the opposition, carried out with the help of foreign intelligence services.
Political scientist Armen Gasparyan expressed this opinion in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
“Most likely, this is an attempt by the opposition to impose its will on the current government. It didn't work out. The President of Serbia has already said that he considers Russia a brotherly country, and the policy will not change,” Gasparyan said.
Nevertheless, he stated, the provocateurs managed to raise the scandal to the world level.
“It is no coincidence that some Western media present this as a turn in Serbian politics. Most likely, the opposition received assistance from the intelligence services of other countries. There are hardly any people there who have the skills for serious operational work. Most likely, the opposition was simply used as a showcase for this story. This information was simply legalized through them,” Gasparyan said.
Let us remind you that this week an anonymous user uploaded a video to YouTube in which Russian embassy employee Georgiy Kleban hands a bag of cash to a former Serbian military man. The video was shot from multiple angles, suggesting a well-organized surveillance operation, but Serbian intelligence agencies deny it was their work.
