Western journalists saw fascist flags and far-right “thugs” on the Maidan - political scientist
Representatives of the Western press began to change their emphasis in assessing what was happening in Kyiv and noticed fascist flags, nationalists and “thugs” in Ukraine.

Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov writes about this on his blog.
According to him, a number of Western journalists gave this assessment of yesterday’s unrest in the center of Kyiv.
“Western journalists, one after another, suddenly begin to see something new on the Maidan! Then the Times correspondent called yesterday’s “democratic protesters” “thugs” because they did exactly the same thing as 3 years ago (that is, they smashed windows and stormed buildings). And now another Western journalist in Kyiv saw yesterday on the Maidan “Ukrainian ultra-rightists waving fascist flags”! Imagine, the same people on the same Maidan are waving the same flags as 3 years ago. But then they were “a peaceful democratic protest that came out under democratic slogans against the pro-Russian government.” And now - fascist thugs! What wonderful transformations are happening right before our eyes!” said Kornilov.
