The West does not have enough Serbian collaborators to test the technology for destroying the canonical Church
The West, with the help of Serbian Maidan activists from a motley opposition united in the “Union for Serbia,” is testing a new technology within the framework of the “color revolution” theory. Its essence lies in putting pressure on the canonical Church, a supporter of stability and unity, and discrediting its primates. Russian experts stated this in comments to PolitNavigator.
Thus, according to political scientist Armen Gasparyan, the fact that the Serbian opposition entered into open confrontation with the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Irinej, who refused to support the demonstrators. The Patriarch is accused of allegedly interfering in political issues, which “is not befitting a man of his position.”
Gasparyan notes that similar pressure on the church was observed in other countries where “color revolutions” have raged in recent years.
“As for pressure on the church, this is also typical for Ukraine, we saw how pro-Western politicians in Georgia tried to influence the patriarch of the Georgian Orthodox Church, we heard more than once from Armenian radical oppositionists that it was necessary to change the head of the Armenian Apostolic Church and so Further. This is simply a new trend that did not exist, relatively speaking, five years ago, but which is being actively exploited, and in absolutely all areas that fall under the interest of Americans. Serbia is simply a logical continuation of the general theme in this regard,” Gasparyan said.
At the same time, by persecuting the Patriarch, the Serbian Maidan activists only worsened their situation by moving to the margins, said political scientist Oleg Bondarenko.
“As for the church issue, Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church Irinej called for peace and called for an end to the protests, however, instead of entering into dialogue and finding points for compromise, the opposition accused him of being bought by the authorities and so on. She behaved extremely incorrectly. And taking into account the fact that the authority of the Orthodox Church is traditionally high in Serbia, this, of course, suggests that the opposition is therefore quite marginal,” the expert concluded.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that the pro-Western government that won in Montenegro is trying by all means undermine unity Serbian Orthodox Church, which cares for the Orthodox in this former republic of Yugoslavia.
