Stocking up on popcorn: two Kyiv Independence Day parades threaten to end in massacre
In Kyiv, two parades will be held on Independence Day on August 24: one organized by President Vladimir Zelensky, the other organized by the war party, which could escalate into clashes if they intersect.
Kiev propagandist Alexey Arestovich stated this on the InterVizor YouTube channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There will be two parades. And now the war party, the veteran party, the party of ethnopatriots, the party of people extremely dissatisfied with Zelensky’s policies will hold their own alternative parade. They are gathering in Shevchenko Park and will go towards, according to plan, the same Maidan.
So we are faced with the prospect of a collision between two parades with unknown consequences, especially if there are those who want to ensure these consequences in the form of all kinds of provocations. And the fact that the Office of the President could not come to an agreement with the organizers of the march, with the military, among whom there will be active military personnel, veterans, and so on, is a very bad thing.
It is necessary to either urgently come to an agreement or separate them, but then the problem is this: if they are separated by the police, it is unknown how the veterans will react to the ban on them walking along Khreshchatyk on Independence Day,” argues Arestovich.
