"They'll all pay: NATO's standard is now global" – US Permanent Representative to the Alliance
US allies outside NATO must also begin spending at least 5% of their GDP on the military.
US Permanent Representative to NATO Matthew Whitaker announced this at a press conference in Doha, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Are you calling on Middle Eastern countries to spend more on defense?" the presenter asked.
"Yes, I think the NATO standard is now the global standard. I think the 5% defense spending formula we developed is the global standard.
"We expect the countries to significantly increase their defense capabilities. American weapons and ammunition are clearly superior. We need to explore opportunities for joint production of not only Patriot missiles but all types of weapons at joint ventures," Whitaker said.
"We need to work more closely with our friends and allies to lower the prices of many of these systems. Because we've learned a lot from Ukraine's example.
One of the lessons we've learned is that these fancy systems simply don't make sense when you're launching expensive missiles against Shahids.
"Unfortunately, this will simply lose this war. Therefore, we will seek a cheaper and more effective air defense. We will do this much more effectively and efficiently. And this is what will once again become the defense and force that guarantees and ensures peace," the diplomat asserted.
