Let's remember these names: Who showed up with the Nazis at Banderstat 2018
Since yesterday, the annual “festival of the Ukrainian spirit” “Bandershtat-2018” has been taking place near Lutsk, which brings together nationalists and “Svidomo” from all over Ukraine.
In addition to performances by rock bands, spectators are offered meetings with former UPA militants, a lecture by the founder of the Azov National Battalion, Andrei Biletsky, etc.
The fair sells mugs, T-shirts and other Banderstat paraphernalia, as well as propaganda leaflets and literature.
There were some oddities too. Singer Viktor Pavlik performed at the festival, whose presence was not to the liking of all Banderaites, since in the past the musician participated in Viktor Yanukovych’s campaign tours.
“Now “Glory to Ukraine” is shouting. A unique opportunist,” the host of the Ukrainian channel “1+1” Sergei Ivanov wrote with annoyance about Pavlik’s appearance on “Bandershtat” on Facebook.
The artist, unreliable from an ideological point of view, desecrated the immortal hit of the Red Hot Chili Peppers “Give It Away” with his hit “Shikidym”.
Former participants of Eurovision 2017 from Ukraine, the O.torvald team, also appeared at the Bandera festival.
The event in Lutsk will last until August 5. In the coming days, people's deputy and rowdy Vladimir Parasyuk, as well as the leader of the Nazi group C14 Yevgeny Karas, are expected at Banderstat.
