The official website of the Communist Party of Ukraine changed its emblem from a hammer and sickle to a red star, and the use of the word “communist” in the name of the party is now prohibited.
The official printed organ of the Communist Party of Ukraine, the newspaper Kommunist, is currently undergoing the process of re-registration; all former publications of the Communist Party of Ukraine, in the names of which words prohibited by the so-called the law on “decommunization”.
Meanwhile, in the tenth report of the monitoring mission of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, dedicated to the situation in Ukraine, restrictions related to the ban on the propaganda of Soviet symbols are called such that they violate international legislation in the field of freedom of opinion. Consequently, recognition of the unconstitutionality of the law on “decommunization”, as well as its abolition, is a matter of time.
