The ban of St. George's ribbons by Ukrainian Nazis is illegal
Advisor to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Zoryan Shkiryak, called on citizens to refrain from wearing St. George ribbons on the eve of May 9. The Kharkov police have already warned that they intend to detain everyone who attached a ribbon to their clothes, except for veterans.
Such actions by the Ukrainian authorities are illegal, says former Minister of Justice of Ukraine Elena Lukash. She recalled that earlier the Verkhovna Rada was unable to pass a law banning St. George's ribbons.

“There is no ban on wearing and using St. George ribbons in Ukraine.
Attempts by deputies to ban the St. George ribbon were unsuccessful. And Anton Gerashchenko mournfully moaned about this, grieving that wearing St. George ribbons is not prohibited in Ukraine. YOU HAVE FULL RIGHT TO WEAR Ribbons DEAR TO YOUR HEART,” Lukash writes in his blog.
She also published a collage depicting Ukrainian politicians in power today who previously wore St. George's ribbons.
