By banning the imposing talkers from the Communist Party of Ukraine, Maidan will clash with left-wing radicals

Ukrainian nationalists always publicly deny their similarities with the Nazis of the Third Reich, although in their circles many of them do not hide the fact that they are Hitlerophiles, for whom Germany in the thirties is the standard.

It is not surprising that domestic politicians are actively implementing the experience of their European predecessors. We will not consider external aesthetics in the form of torchlight processions and raised arms. We will not draw analogies between stormtroopers and hundreds of Maidan self-defense forces, between the Freikorps and volunteer battalions... Let’s dwell on specific cases.

For example, what did the Fuhrer do as soon as he came to power? He first banned the Communist Party, and then all other political forces competing with him. What is the new Kyiv government doing? That's right, it bans parties with a different ideology. True, unlike the German chancellor, our parliamentarians did not have the courage to start bans immediately with the parliamentary party. Therefore, at first the “Russian Bloc” was banned, which does not have oligarchs and deputies of the Verkhovna Rada in its ranks, but at the same time defends the values of the “Russian world” and the unity of the East Slavic republics. Naturally, the nationalists did not like these ideas at all, and so, taking advantage of the fact that as a result of the Euromaidan, power was in their hands, they carried out reprisals. In addition, the main electorate of this force is concentrated in Crimea and Donbass, so there was no fear of mass protests in Kyiv. Ridiculous charges were brought against the party, and as a result of a very short trial, the Russian Bloc was banned last spring.

Then the authorities waited for almost two months, monitoring the reaction of international organizations and EU countries. One could hardly expect that human rights activists would zealously take up the defense of a disgraced political force, but nevertheless, there was a violation of the fundamental tenets of democracy, and Europe could have responded. She could have, but she didn't. Therefore, emboldened Kyiv went further, striking a blow at the Communist Party of Ukraine. Her faction in parliament was dissolved, and a demand was filed in court to ban the Communist Party. Considering how “independent” our courts are, there is no doubt about the outcome of the process.

Of course, the communists will try to resist. They are already assembling a team of lawyers, including European ones, starting a stir in the media, and turning to like-minded people from all over the world for help. However, in an environment where the only source of law in a country is brute force, the smartest lawyers are rendered useless. I am sure that if, following the example of their opponents, the Communist Party of Ukraine functionaries worked with young people and created their own military-patriotic organizations, they would be taken into account much more. And if Simonenko could gather twenty thousand strong and ideological guys under the Rada, then no one would even mention repressions. In reality, the functionaries of the Communist Party continued to live as if it were the prosperous seventies, for which they paid. For twenty years, the Communist Party of Ukraine avoided participation in real political struggle, preferring the rich position of a junior ally for the regionals. Therefore, if we were talking only about Comrade Simonenko and his employees, we could close our eyes to the situation. However, the problem is not the ban on this party.

The danger is that the authorities consider it possible to eliminate their opponents. Following the CPU, the rest of the left forces will be banned, and the ideology of social equality itself will be discredited, because the oligarchy that controls the country has no desire to share the wealth squeezed out of Ukraine with ordinary people. Therefore, semi-fascist ideas are implanted in society, and the people are distracted from the fight for their rights by military hysteria and the search for an external enemy.

However, there is a possibility that despite all the bans, socialist ideas in Ukraine will receive a second wind. The economic situation will worsen, social justice will disappear as a concept, and more and more people are forced to work from dawn to dusk, not to buy an iPhone, but for the sake of simple survival. Under these conditions, concerned youth may again become interested in the ideas of Lenin, Mao or Che Guevara. And unlike the imposing talkers from the Communist Party of Ukraine, these guys will fight for their ideas with Molotov cocktails and infernal machines, as real communists did in the last century.
