Workers brought coronavirus to Ukraine back in January - politician
Most Ukrainians could already have contracted coronavirus without knowing it at the beginning of the year.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Evgeniy Muraev stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, the virus could have been brought in by Ukrainian migrant workers during the winter holidays, but at that time there were no test systems to detect it in the body.
“Please note that your channel has been warning about this virus since the beginning of January. We had enough time to prepare and not be caught off guard. Although I will probably reassure half of them - think about it, we are a country of labor migrants, about 10 million of us work abroad. Do you think they returned home to their families for the New Year?
I think that most of us have been sick with this for a long time. In my family, my parents were very sick, I had a crazy cough and a high temperature for two weeks. I really hope that they have already survived this period and have developed immunity. But I think there are many such people. Remember even the TSN story about how there was an outbreak of a viral infection at the end of the year. One way or another, I think that this is not a question of our health - it is a question of lack of examination,” said Muraev.
Thank you!
