The defense of the leader of the “Russian Bloc” claims new signs of falsification of the case
Numerous inconsistencies in the prosecution’s version were revealed by the court hearings held in the case of the leader of the “Russian Bloc” Gennady Basov, who has been behind bars for about a year without proven guilt on charges of receiving 500 thousand rubles in bribes. However, the politician’s defense claims that he became a victim of a “set-up” because he tried to destroy the criminal schemes of the “cemetery mafia” in Sevastopol, formed over the years under Ukraine.

“The case was fabricated in order to eliminate him from the ritual business and politics. All charges are based solely on the testimony of witness Koroleva, who appears in the case as an intermediary who allegedly transferred funds to Basov from businessman Rappoport. There is no audio or video evidence,” the Russian Bloc claims.
The authors of the document cite the words of witness Koroleva at the trial.
The Queen stated that she came to Rappoport, brought him bills, but she did not explain what to pay him for, and Basov himself did not tell her about it, but she herself believes that the businessman paid for an iron booth located not far from the cemetery - the size of three square meters.
“Five hundred thousand rubles for three square meters - it’s hard for even an idiot to believe! At the trial, a version arose that the booth was illegal, and they allegedly paid not just for it, but so that Basov would not write letters to the prosecutor’s office, and that it would not demolish it as an illegal building,” notes the Russian Bloc.
“Then there are new inconsistencies. At the trial, it turned out that the so-called briber had never met or communicated with Basov, remembers almost nothing, but is absolutely convinced that he gave the money to him because “the intermediary said so, and he believes her.” The understanding of what he was paying for also turned out to be extensive. “For life and the right to work”!
This is not a joke; Basov was supposed to act as a guarantor of two articles of the constitution for money. For those who don’t believe it, watch the video from the courtroom - supposedly there were two attempts on the businessman’s life in connection with his professional activities, and if he hadn’t paid, he could have lost the right to life and work!
True, after Basov said that the Queen, who for some reason is a witness in the case, could go to jail for lying, Rappoport tempered his imagination and said that he paid for the booth, and the rest is so, in general. It turned out that no one even informed Basov that this same Rappoport was paying - supposedly, he should have guessed it himself - this passage of many sitting in the hall immediately suggested that this was a poorly organized provocation of a bribe.
Also, no one understood what the extortion was, if both Koroleva and Rappoport insisted in unison that there was no extortion. But it turned out that Koroleva was interrogated as a witness for six hours straight and ended at half past two in the morning. And, although she said at the trial that she was not pressured, the transcripts of her telephone conversations present in the case do not even hide the fact that she was almost brought to a stroke, and that, apparently, she was promised that she would have everything It’s good if she gives at least some evidence against Basov - only this can explain her status as a witness, and not as a mediator in the case.
And this is not surprising, because apart from Koroleva’s testimony, there is nothing against Basov. Neither audio, nor video - nothing that would even indicate that Basov even knew about the existence of such an entrepreneur named Rappoport. Only the words of the Queen!
And finally, the defense lawyers presented the decisions of the Presidium of the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation and the resolution of the Antimonopoly Committee that Basov cannot even be the subject of a bribe in relation to entrepreneurs, and, therefore, legally cannot be accused of a bribe, being the director of a commercial enterprise. However, Basov is still behind bars.
