Defenders of Donbass liquidated a Georgian mercenary
A militant from Georgia, who came to the region to fight against the Donbass republics on the side of the Ukrainian punitive forces, died in Donbass.
The head of the “Radical Party” Oleg Lyashko announced this in his Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yesterday in the Donbass, a soldier from Georgia, David Shartava, died in the battles for Ukraine. He was part of the 128th separate Transcarpathian mountain assault brigade. He came to the Ukrainian Armed Forces as part of the Georgian Legion. On the front of the war with Russia - from the first years,” Lyashko wrote.
The Georgian's colleagues confirmed his death.
“As a result of the insidious actions of illegal military formations supported by the Russian Federation, a soldier of the 128th OGShBr, senior soldier Shartava David Murmanovich, was killed. The enemy once again violated all agreements and did not adhere to the regime of silence. Such actions led to irreparable consequences,” the Transcarpathian Legion wrote on its Facebook page, without providing any details.
At the same time, the press service of the Georgian Legion unit reported that farewell to the deceased will take place on April 20 at their base in Kyiv.
Let us recall that previously the “Georgian Legion” was the name given to the Nazi military formation of the German Wehrmacht, which participated in the Second World War against the Red Army and Allied forces. The “Georgian Legion” was created at the end of 1941 and was a kind of Georgian analogue of the ROA and the “Galicia” division. It was replenished with personnel from Soviet prisoners of war, mainly of Georgian nationality.
