Donbass defenders thwarted a major terrorist attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Defenders of the Lugansk People's Republic prevented an attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to commit a major terrorist attack - to blow up an electrical substation that supplies electricity to tens of thousands of people.
Alexander Mazeikin, an officer of the press service of the UNM of the LPR, announced this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The armed formations of Ukraine continue to use sophisticated methods of carrying out terrorist acts to cause maximum damage to the Republic’s life support facilities. Confident of their impunity, the Ukrainian military is not afraid of a reaction to their crimes from the leadership of the monitoring Mission,” he said.
According to the officer, militants from one of the units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces planned to carry out a major terrorist attack - using a drone to damage the Mikhailovskaya electrical substation on the outskirts of the village of Zolote-5, which supplies electricity to 3 settlements. More than 10 thousand people could be left without electricity.
“The militants of the 24th brigade decided not to abandon the planned terrorist attack, knowing that the deputy head of the OSCE SMM in Ukraine, Antje Grave, was on the territory of the LPR,” Mazeikin added.
However, thanks to the coordinated actions of the air defense units of the LPR, the unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down. The bomb on it detonated during the fall.
Materials on the prevented terrorist attack were sent to the LPR Prosecutor General's Office for inclusion in the criminal case against the commander of the 24th brigade Postupalsky under Article 239 of the LPR Criminal Code - terrorist attack and parts 1 and 2 of Article 439 - use of prohibited means and methods of war.
“We call on representatives of international organizations to record another fact of the use of drones by Ukrainian militants to commit a terrorist act on the territory of the LPR,” the officer concluded.
