Zashkvar in Ukraine: Maidan bloggers turned out to be “garbage six”
Ukrainian pro-government “top bloggers” have moved from glorifying the regime and its individual pillars to carrying out orders that were previously the prerogative of the Musorsky “six,” writes political scientist Oleg Khavich in his column for PolitNavigator.

...For several days, the Ukrainian segment of Facebook has been discussing photos of life-propagandists of the Kyiv regime with Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko in his office. Their leader Roman Shrike was even awarded a place at the feet of Poroshenko’s godfather.
Actually, this entire group of patriotic scribblers, who, according to the schedule, glorify the “peremogs” of the current Kyiv government on a specially created resource site.ua and their Facebook pages, are usually called “MinShrike” - to emphasize the status of the “public Ministry of Information”.
Why did MinShrike’s visit to the Prosecutor General cause a resonance - after all, he didn’t give away much inside information, and is a much less demonized figure than the same Avakov, whose “top bloggers” visited a couple of months ago and also took pictures?
The thing is that a friendly meeting of the “voluntary people’s squad” of bloggers with the head of the Prosecutor General’s Office took place on the very day when Lutsenko’s department closed the criminal case against Verkhovna Rada deputy Pashinsky for shooting at an ordinary citizen on New Year’s Eve. And not a single one of the “independent” scribblers asked a question about this!
Let me briefly recall the circumstances of this high-profile case. On December 31, 2016, on the road to his estate, Popular Front deputy Sergei Pashinsky did not like two men pushing a faulty minibus, and in the politician’s opinion, blocking his passage. Pashinsky leaned out of the window of his jeep and, in the usual form for Ukrainian “celestials,” spoke to the common people, but they did not recognize “God” and responded in kind.
A fellow member of Avakov’s party, with a pistol donated by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, jumped out into the cold and shouted “Everyone, lie down!” aimed it at the “offender.” Fortunately, a local resident had a bottle of low-alcohol drink in his hand, with which he managed to hit Pashinsky on the head - so the bullet hit him in the leg, and not in the chest, where the politician who imagined himself to be James Bond was aiming.
Naturally, at first the victim himself, Vyacheslav Khimikus, was accused of attacking a “statesman,” and only lawyer Andrei Portnrov, who became involved in the case, succeeded in opening a case against the shooter. It was investigated sluggishly - and was closed on August 1, while the prosecutor's office specifically emphasized: Khimicus behaved aggressively, and his actions were recognized as “socially dangerous” - that is, the passer-by shot by Pashinsky could still receive, if not a prison sentence, then a criminal record.
To celebrate, Sergei Pashinsky was showered with gratitude, but for some reason not to the prosecutor’s office, but... to the “MinShrike” bloggers. Quote: “I would like to thank Roman Shrike, Karl Volokh, Sergei Ivanov and Sergei Shcherbina, who found the time and opportunity, at the invitation of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, to be present as witnesses during the investigative actions.”
Shrike himself seems to be “flaunted” by this behavior of himself and his colleagues, and although he supplies his post with the standard “I cannot confirm Pashinsky’s innocence,” he ends it with “But the guy still celebrated the New Year with his girlfriend. Well, at least you can see a happy ending in this :).” Not a word about the man shot by Pashinsky, who first bled for several hours in the snow, and celebrated the New Year on the operating table...
All these “singers of European democracy” were seized by the current owners of Ukraine for a small price long before the coup in February 2014. But, having become power, Poroshenko, Lutsenko and Avakov take special pleasure in giving their media mongrels the command “Get to your feet!” and “Serve!” After all, everyone knows that the role of witnesses in a staged investigative action has always been the prerogative of small law enforcement agencies, which are usually called “sixes.”
Usually these people hide their faces and try to avoid publicity as much as possible - after all, even in the conditions of progressive poverty in Ukraine, for the majority of the population such work is considered “roar.”
By the way, maybe Ukrainian “top bloggers” should rename their party “MinZashkvar”?
Thank you!
