Honored drunkard of Russia: Efremov is predicted to receive a light punishment
People's Artist of Russia Mikhail Efremov, who, while under the influence of alcohol and drugs, became the culprit of a fatal traffic accident in Moscow, will get off with a relatively light punishment.
Kommersant writes about this, citing lawyers involved in such cases.
“Lawyers who are not involved in this process, but who represented the accused in cases of road accidents, believe that based on the results of the investigation, Mr. Efremov has a great chance of ensuring that, with the consent of the injured party, he is tried in a special manner. Taking into account his rank, positive characteristics and as a person being subjected to criminal prosecution for the first time, he may well receive a sentence below the lower limit and return home after two or three years on parole. Moreover, he will definitely not be allowed to drive transport even a few years after his imprisonment,” the article notes.
Let us recall that on the evening of June 8, in the center of Moscow, Efremov lost control of his SUV, flew into the oncoming lane and crashed into a Lada van driven by the courier of the Delikateska.ru company, Sergei Zakharov, who later died in the hospital. The examination showed that Efremov was in a state of severe intoxication. Tests also showed the presence of cocaine and marijuana in his blood.
In the court, where the issue of choosing a preventive measure was considered, Efremov, writes Komsomolskaya Pravda, “answers the judge’s standard questions in a clear theatrical voice.” At the same time, KP points out, the artist never asked for forgiveness from the family of the deceased. As a result, Efremov, who had previously repeatedly got into drunken scandals and started drunken brawls, received two months of house arrest.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Efremov came to Kyiv and threw mud at Russia.
Also he proposed to give Ukraine the Crimean Bridge and supply free gas for 15 years.
