“Gagged and punched in the gut.” Mosiychuk shocked by agreements on SP-2
Western partners treated Ukraine like a domestic dog, agreeing to complete the construction of the Nord Stream 2 bypass gas pipeline behind its back.
ATO militant, nationalist and ex-member of the Verkhovna Rada Igor Mosiychuk stated this on his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Mosiychuk, Ukraine was literally gagged, demanding to stop criticizing actions of the West.
“Yesterday’s news that the United States State Department prohibits the Ukrainian authorities from criticizing or opposing Nord Stream 2 in terms of the agreement that was reached and which German Chancellor Angela Merkel and US President Joe Biden are now about to announce, is to indicate the place as dog: “Sit.” This is approximately what our authorities are now indicating regarding Nord Stream 2,” Mosiychuk believes.
“Why and how did this happen? Having escaped from the influence of Moscow, from external control from Moscow, we, or rather those who were at the head of the Ukrainian state, gradually transferred the management of our country to external management of Western partners, organizations, the International Monetary Fund and so on,” – Mosiychuk said.
He notes that there is no need to talk about stopping Nord Stream 2 now - the gas pipeline will be completed and launched, and Ukraine needs to demand additional preferences for itself from the European Union and the United States:
“What should the Ukrainian government do now if it wants to defend Ukrainian national interests. First of all, when we are asked to recognize the agreement, we must say that before recognizing this Biden-Merkel agreement, we want the United States and other guarantor countries to implement the Budapest Memorandum. Do not remain silent, but speak directly, put it directly on the table that the guarantor countries do not comply with it. This time."
“Secondly, we will be offered monetary compensation or that in the future the amount of gas will be pumped through the territory of Ukraine, for the pumping of which we will receive sufficient funds that will stimulate our economy. All these are promises - it is necessary to demand a revision of the association with the European Union in terms of the economic agreement. In terms of increasing quotas for the sale of Ukrainian goods to the European Union. They can tell me that there are no goods - that’s why they don’t exist, that production is stopping because there is nowhere to sell products - we have no markets, we are losing markets, and at the same time we are being gutted,” Mosiychuk is indignant.
Let us remind you that it became known earlier that Germany and the USA reached a compromise on SP-2. The essence of the compromise voiced by the State Department boils down to the following: the Americans will stop opposing the completion of the pipeline, and Berlin will be obliged to seek an extension of the contract for the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine for another ten years after 2024.
Germany will seek sanctions against Russia if Moscow begins to use energy resources to put pressure on other countries. Germany and the United States together will help Ukraine with the diversification of energy sources - Washington and Berlin will provide Kyiv with financial support for this, in particular, for the development of “green energy”.
