Economist Alexander Okhrimenko voiced the corresponding forecast in his video blog on YouTube.
He placed the main emphasis on the introduction by the National Bank of a temporary administration at the Nadra Bank, which, in his opinion, will provoke another round of devaluation.
“Indeed, this is a strong blow to the exchange rate, so the dollar exchange rate may already be 50 UAH,” he said. “Now you are approaching the point that you will have to introduce a temporary administration at Oschadbank,” Okhrimenko said, emphasizing that the banking sector is a fragile thing.
“The NBU’s mistake will lead to Ukrainians losing not only money, but also their jobs and their future... But some people will become oligarchs,” the expert emphasized.
“Now after Nadra, anything can happen. People will now withdraw deposits from Oschadbank as well,” he suggested on his Facebook page.
“Just information: on the gray interbank market 25-26 UAH, on the black market 25,5-26,5 UAH. On the official interbank market it’s 24,3 UAH,” he said.
Note that earlier economists voiced a more optimistic forecast: in a week the dollar exchange rate will roll back.
