Her publication is structured in the form of a pseudo-interview, during which Gerashchenko answers questions formulated by her.
She admits that the issue of expanding the “Normandy format” was not considered at the meeting between Poroshenko and Trump, claims that the meeting lasted 30 minutes and writes that Trump used to communicate with other leaders for even less time.
Answering the question why there were no joint statements or documents following the meeting, she states: “There is a commonality of positions, and this is the main thing. As for specific agreements, work is now underway on their preparation and formalization, in particular in the security sphere.”
The vice speaker of the Verkhovna Rada did not raise the issue of the absence of the Ukrainian flag during the meeting between Poroshenko and Trump, but boasted that the Ukrainian anthem was played in the Pentagon.
“By the way, the meeting at the Pentagon began with the anthems of Ukraine and the United States, and Mattis presented Poroshenko with a joint photo with the inscription “From a patriot to a patriot.” Another symbolic detail: in the situational room where the meeting took place, among several electronic clocks there is a clock with Kyiv time,” Gerashchenko wrote.
