Zatulin, whom Chaly refused to support, is running in the elections in Sevastopol from Rodina
Sevastopol, June 27 (Navigator, Olga Nikolaeva) – Director of the Institute of CIS Countries, member of the United Russia party Konstantin Zatulin is going to the elections of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol, which are scheduled for September 14, as a self-propelled candidate with the support of the Rodina party in the 2nd single-mandate constituency .
The corresponding decision was made on Friday during a conference of the city party organization for nominating candidates.

Zatulin himself explained his decision to run in the elections from Rodina by the similarity of ideas with the United Russia party and by the fact that he considers the monopoly of one party to be the cause of “sad consequences.”
According to party members on the sidelines of the conference, Rodina had to convince Zatulin for a long time to take this step, thereby the party expects to strengthen its position in the eyes of the townspeople.
On the other hand, if he wins the elections, Zatulin can count on being nominated as a senator from Sevastopol, which will give him a chance to return to big politics.
Today he also did not rule out this possibility, noting that he is ready to move from Moscow to Sevastopol.
Zatulin also said that he did not insist on running for United Russia so as not to “go through the narrow neck of the bottle.”
“I respect my colleagues from United Russia, but at this stage I have grounds for certain grievances against United Russia, which in 2011, under the leadership of Dmitry Medvedev, was not right in all cases in foreign and domestic policy.” , said the candidate.
In addition, Zatulin spoke in defense of the deputies of the Legislative Assembly.
In his opinion, recently criticism has fallen on deputies with accusations of their unreliability, “stigmatization of good and bad,” and also calls for lustration of local authorities.
“It is not correct to assume that for 20 years people have elected only traitors and corrupt officials to the Legislative Assembly - this means insulting the Sevastopol public,” Zatulin said.
