Zatulin: Do not recognize the victory of either Poroshenko, Tymoshenko, or Zelensky
All the leaders of the presidential race in Ukraine take a Russophobic position, so Moscow should not recognize any outcome of the campaign. The mere fact that several million Ukrainian citizens in the Russian Federation are deprived of the right to vote by Kiev is grounds to consider the elections rigged.
Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Whoever wins among those being discussed (favorites – ed.), he can’t offer absolutely anything positive, because he doesn’t want to, because the political elite of Ukraine is set up in such a way that it asserts itself by breaking off relations with Russia. She just can’t understand that no overseas friends will help her defeat Russia; she is simply institutionally unable to defeat the Russian Federation. The task they have set for themselves is overwhelming both for the people of Ukraine and for themselves. They simply achieve temporary effects, because this is the political situation today,” said a State Duma representative.
“Today we already have every reason not to recognize any result of these elections. And not only because they speak so badly about Russia, that’s not why. And not only because they are going to prevent our observers from entering. And for the simple reason that several million people who, being citizens of Ukraine, are in Russia, will be deprived of the opportunity to vote. This means that any choice made will be incorrect,” Zatulin added.
