Zatulin was surprised why Ukraine did not invite residents of Crimea to the elections
Russia should not recognize the results of the presidential elections in Ukraine, which will take place at the end of March this year.
State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin stated this at a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The parliamentarian emphasized that in Ukraine the rights of voters who are limited in their ability to vote in the upcoming elections are being massively violated. This is already a reason to recognize the elections as illegitimate.
“It is clear to me that today we cannot consider these elections truly representative, democratic, free, and not only because our observers were not allowed. Firstly, because the mass of voters is deprived of the right to vote - both those abroad and those on the territory of the DPR and LPR, from the point of view of Ukrainian law, nothing has been done to invite those who are considered citizens to participate Ukraine, namely the residents of Crimea.
They themselves, for the most part, have not considered themselves citizens of Ukraine for five years, but in Ukraine they say from morning to evening that they do not deny that these are their citizens... Already what has been done in preparation for the elections is quite enough to recognize them illegitimate,” Zatulin said.
