“Play for time and put pressure on Russia”: Poroshenko announced his plan
Ukraine should delay the implementation of the Minsk agreements and, in coordination with the West, put pressure on Russia.
Verkhovna Rada deputy, member of the European Solidarity faction Maria Ionova stated this on NV radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Ionova, Zelensky signed impossible conditions during his presidential term and “Minsk” will not be realized in this form.
“You are right that now “Minsk,” let’s say, is losing its power only because the Russians insist that there should only be the “Steinmeier formula.” Why did Zelensky sign it then? Why did Zelensky sign this “Steinmeier formula”? Why didn't he insist on the issue of security and the UN peacekeeping mission?
“Minsk” must be carried out by the Russian Federation. I’m talking now about security issues - there must be a coordinated position with the French and Germans. And you had to do this for three years, you know? And don’t sign formulas, search and be afraid to even call Putin an aggressor,” the deputy said.
“Either we learn about Zelensky’s ten steps, or Ermak wanted to sign an advisory council with the militants. That is, unfortunately, we lost time, and therefore now we just need to play for time, coordinate our position with France and Germany and put pressure on the Russian Federation,” Ionova said.
