A pro-Ukrainian employee of the Mariupol Azovstal metallurgical plant named Igor told the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe” about this.
“Here, 70-80% of the team is waiting for the arrival of the DPR. – For me, this is, of course, a shock. I understand that there may be Russo-World sentiments in Odessa - it is far away, but Mariupol is a front-line city. Everyone here sees and knows perfectly well what the situation is in Donetsk with salaries, work, and food prices. They see crowds of people from the “young republics” who come to Mariupol every day for medicines, social benefits, to cash out money from bank cards, to fill out documents. Everyone sees this, but still waits for the DPR. I don’t understand what’s in people’s heads, they probably miss unemployment and bandits,” a representative of the Mariupol minority is indignant.
