Trans-Ukrainian expert has seen the light: Russia cannot be defeated in the war
The armed forces of Ukraine, even with maximum supplies of Western weapons, are not able to turn the tide of the war and go on the offensive.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Azerbaijani military analyst Agil Rustamzade stated this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication Zerkalo Nedeli.
He claims that Kyiv has no chance of defeating Russia militarily, and therefore it is necessary to “achieve political defeat.”
“Unceasing political pressure from the West and the too high cost of the war for the economy will lead to the fact that Russia will be forced to end this war. That is, once again: Russia is not a country that can be defeated by military means,” Rustamzade believes.
The publication noted that during the first months its forecasts were much more optimistic for Ukraine.
“I expected that the Anglo-Saxons would put pressure and all EU states would quickly supply you with a huge amount of weapons. But they didn't go this route. And, you know, they could make their decision because the war is taking place in the context of confrontation between Russia and the collective West. The West is fighting in a complex way: military-politically and economically. Russia is being worn down, but you are not allowed to fall. Such an algorithm,” the expert justifies himself.
He believes that in the next one or two months the West will one way or another increase Ukrainian fire capabilities.
“But due to the fact that you will not have very many weapons, you will not be able to make a turning point in this war and move on to offensive operations. You will be given as many weapons as will be enough for you to grind the enemy in defensive battles. Otherwise, your offensive operations and strikes on Russian territory will provoke both the beginning of general mobilization in Russia and the beginning of a mass movement of volunteers and contract soldiers,” the analyst warns.
He points out that today about 80 percent of Russian citizens support the actions of their leadership.
“In such a situation, a country with less potential has no chance against a nuclear power. All these days I have been trying to come to an understanding of the logic of the West. It is obvious that there is no single collective West. The leaders in this process are the Anglo-Saxons. And today I consider their approach to be rational. Even if we give you all the weapons of the EU countries, Russia will continue the war,” Rustamzade is convinced.
The expert also believes that Russia, primarily the political and business elite, “can only be brought to a price at which this military operation will lose any attractiveness for it.”
“But at the same time, I want to note that the majority of government analysts and military experts really unanimously continue to tell the Ukrainian society that we will not start a counter-offensive today or tomorrow, that Russia is running out of resources, and so on.
You can not do it this way. At this rate of war, Russia can fight for years, constantly feeding its 150-strong force,” the analyst concluded.
