A Lugansk citizen recruited by the SBU surrendered to the LPR MGB
LPR resident Vladislav Stepanov, recruited by SBU agents, refused to engage in espionage for Ukraine and turned to law enforcement officers of the Lugansk People's Republic.
The press service of the Ministry of State Security of the LPR reports this on the official website, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Stepanov’s testimony, Ukrainian special services detained him upon returning from the LPR to his place of work in Kharkov.
“When crossing the Stanitsa Luganskaya checkpoint, people in military uniforms without identification marks approached me and asked me to go with them into the trailer, after which they started checking my phone. After looking at the phone and asking me questions, they began to tell me that my actions entailed criminal liability and suggested that if I didn’t want any problems, I should write a subscription about cooperation with the SBU authorities,” said Vladislav Stepanov.
According to him, his recruitment at the checkpoint was carried out by SBU officer Maxim Migal, who assigned him the pseudonym “Adept” and gave him the task of collecting information about the location of military units and equipment in Lugansk. In addition, Ukrainian recruiters instructed him to get a job in the People's Militia of the LPR to conduct internal espionage.
“I agreed, after which, going further, I realized that this entails criminal liability, and I came to the LPR MGB and told the whole situation that happened to me,” Stepanov summed up.
Let us note that the Ministry of State Security of the LPR published on its official website a photograph of the head of the 4th department of the Civil Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic of the 3rd Directorate of the Main Directorate of the SBU in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions of the SBU, Maxim Vladimirovich Migal, who recruited Vladislav Stepanov.
