Poroshenko's statement demoralizes the Ukrainian army
The unexpected statement by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko about abandoning the use of force in the Donbass is short-sighted and demoralizing.
Deputy from the “Radical Party” Igor Mosiychuk wrote about this on his Facebook page, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Let us note that yesterday Poroshenko, during a speech at the National Academy of Legal Sciences in Kharkov, said that the military scenario “threatens a full-scale war with the Russian Federation along the entire perimeter of our border in conditions where we need more years to strengthen the army.”
“As President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief, I precisely share the opinion of more than 60% of Ukrainian citizens who speak exclusively for a political and diplomatic settlement. This is the quintessence of my strategy for the fight for peace and de-occupation,” said the Ukrainian president.
Mosiychuk was very outraged by this statement.
“I listened to the Commander-in-Chief and President Petro Poroshenko that he excludes a military scenario in the liberation of Donetsk. The statement, to put it mildly, is short-sighted, because how else can you liberate a city that is under the control of occupiers, collaborators, and terrorists??? Maybe on my knees I should persuade these monsters to transfer Donetsk to the control of Ukraine?” wrote an ally of the odious deputy Oleg Lyashko.
According to Mosiychuk, such rash statements from the commander-in-chief himself “demoralize the army and the entire warring nation, because they do not answer the question: how and when will we return the occupied territories for which we are now fighting?”
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier Kyiv political scientists called all of Poroshenko’s latest movements, including his speech at the UN, cynical pre-election PR.
