Putin's statement infuriated Poroshenko's lackeys
Ukrainian identity exists, and it has been formed, but not as long ago as the trans-Ukrainian “Svidomo” would like.
This is how the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin, spoken during a press conference, were perceived in Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are having disputes with Ukraine. There is Ukrainian identity. Yes, it is formed. Who was the author? Count Potocki, a famous researcher, scientist and writer, who first spoke about Ukrainians as a separate ethnic group. Then, separately, there were other Polish studies that completely excluded Ukrainians from among the Slavs,” Putin said and explained that these Polish researchers believed that Ukrainians were descendants of nomadic peoples.
“But this is all complete nonsense, and we must know the truth. We must understand that at some stage some elements of real identity occurred, we must treat this with respect, and we do and will do this,” the Russian leader added and added that this also applies to respect for the Ukrainian identity within Russia.
This statement caused a strong reaction from the editor-in-chief of the Dumskaya website, owned by the odious Alexey Goncharenko, Odessa journalist Oleg Konstantinov, who sensed genocide and expansion in Vladimir Putin’s words.
“Hublo was very harsh today on Ukraine and Ukrainians. This is downright unusually harsh even for him. And Pototsky invented Ukrainian identity (a lie), and Ukraine seized the original Russian lands (also a lie). Just stop shooting, you say? Shall we sit and come to an agreement? Shall we look him in the eye? – Konstantinov became hysterical on his Facebook.
“By the way, he seems to consider ALL Ukrainian lands to be “originally Russian”. Simply because Ukrainians were invented by Pototsky (see above),” the journalist added.
