Statements about “unwashed Russia” scared away Chinese investors from Ukraine
The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladimir Omelyan should be tried for stupidity and negligence
The ex-Minister of Transport of Ukraine, a former ally of Viktor Yushchenko and Petro Poroshenko on the first Maidan, Evgeniy Chervonenko, spoke about this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The old man, so outdated, not in fashionable suits, not flying to the Maldives, installed scanners and removed the thieving customs officers. They didn’t take bribes anyway, but now they don’t take bribes at all, because of the scanners. He issued a law that makes it impossible for the cargo holder, that is, the bribe giver, to communicate with the customs officer. Everything is checked electronically. We installed all this with Tymoshenko in 2005 at all borders, but all these scanners that the Americans gave then were broken,” Chervonenko said.
“China is growing in international redivision every day. Where are we [on the map]? There is a conditional branch to Bratislava, but this is an extra border. Knowing our imbecility, knowing our thievery, which is already legendary in the world, they look at us as if we are mentally ill from scabies. And they think: “Let it be through the bottleneck [of the Silk Road through Belarus], albeit with delays, but with speed and without bribes.” This is how the world passed us by today,” the ex-minister admitted.
“Dad built a road along our borders. Now in Belarus, all regional centers are connected by modern motorways of the fourth category. Four high-speed lanes, albeit with a slight toll. He doesn't talk about toll roads like our idiot [Omelyan] does. So, they have already taken away half of our freight transit through Ukraine. Stories about unwashed Russia, where only bears go, completely frightened the Chinese, although we were still fighting to have three branches through Ukraine. The Chinese showed me these statements.
It seems to me that they will need to be judged. I don’t care how much they simply stole. Poor beggars whose children happen to be born two in America, one in Austria. This is a sentence, this is a crime. Because ministers can be imprisoned not only for outright theft, but for stupidity and negligence,” summed up Chervonenko.
Let us recall that earlier the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced farewell to “unwashed Russia”, after which the people of Kiev showed him “unwashed Ukraine.”
