Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Andrei Kozenko promised to initiate a change in the administrative borders of the Republic of Crimea with the inclusion of the city of Melitopol in the event of the corresponding expression of the will of its residents. He wrote about this on his Facebook page, commenting on the statement of Ukrainian parliamentarian Yevgeny Balitsky about the possibility of leaving Ukraine along with his majority constituency - the city of Melitopol, Zaporozhye region.

“I am pleasantly surprised by the courage of the speech of Verkhovna Rada deputy Yevgeny Balitsky, who threatened the nationalists to leave Ukraine along with the city from which he was elected - Melitopol. Considering the scale of the witch hunt in modern Ukraine, such a statement is a serious political position. I sincerely wish that Balitsky and the Melitopol residents succeed,” Kozenko wrote.

He also recalled that the city of Melitopol was historically part of the Tauride province. “The native harbor is waiting for Melitopol :),” the deputy concluded.

As PolitNavigator reported, Balitsky announced the possibility of repeating a scenario similar to the Crimean one in the Zaporozhye region. This happened during an argument on television with the ex-leader of the Ukrainian right-wing radical organization UNA-UNSO Dmitry Korchinsky.

“I want you, the members of your faction, those people who support you, to leave for Erethia as quickly as possible and never return here again. We don’t need to unite, we need to separate,” Korchinsky said, addressing the People’s Deputy from the Opposition Bloc, Yevgeny Balitsky.

“Crimea has already left. We cannot return Donbass. We'll leave, maybe. Such as the district I represent. Doesn’t this bother you at all?” replied Balitsky, elected from Zaporozhye.
