The Majlis building in Simferopol emits a foul miasma
The fate of the former office of the extremist organization “Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people” in the center of Simferopol should be decided by local authorities in accordance with the urban planning plan.
This opinion was expressed on air by Crimea 24 by the general contractor for the construction of the Cathedral Mosque in Simferopol, Enver Emiradzhiev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In general, this issue needs to be resolved according to the law, and that’s it, there are no problems at all,” he emphasized. – It’s the local councils who decide what is suitable. There are town planning requirements and, based on these requirements, they can either adapt it, so to speak, or actually demolish it and put up a new building or structure there, maybe improve this area, erect a monument - this is also the local council of everything - still have to decide. What are we going to guess now, everyone will say their own, and then, when you start looking at the technical conditions, especially urban planning ones, nothing will fit and everything will come back. Let local experts look and determine.
It’s clear that this public place should be necessary for our society, for the citizens. And if it’s a building or a square, or whatever it is, let the deputies figure it out.”
As it turned out, in the Simferopol region the Majlis also owns the building of a children's hospital, which was never opened. It is not yet clear whether it falls under the criteria for nationalization.
Building on the street Shmidt 2/27 in Simferopol was nationalized by the decision of the State Council of Crimea on May 25. The mansion, which is an architectural monument, was chosen by homeless people. In this regard, Simferopol residents proposed organizing a shelter in the building for people without a fixed place of residence, or selling it and sending the funds to the North Military District relief fund.
