Oleksiy Golubov, President of the Union of Chemists of Ukraine, stated this in an interview with Ukrainian News. According to him, recruiters from other countries are actively working in the country, luring Ukrainian specialists abroad.

“I spoke with the director of Cherkassy Azot. More than 200 people have already quit. I talked with the director of the OPP, people with extremely rare specialties are leaving them... Ammonia plant operators are leaving. Where are they going? Immediately, 2 companies were organized in Odessa - one Polish, one Algerian - and were recruiting people. In Algeria, depending on the specialty and qualifications, the salary is from 2 to 2,5 thousand dollars, and 300 dollars are given for accommodation (housing and food). And people leave - they need to feed their families. At Gorlovka “Stirol” the staff leakage is terrible. 2-3 months ago I had a conversation with the director of the plant.

He said that if Gorlovka were liberated tomorrow and they were given the command to launch, they would not be able to. They have 3 ammonia plants, each plant should have 5 ammonia plant operators. There are only 3 operators left for 2 installations. And this is a specialty that requires extremely high qualifications... Many people from Severodonetsk Azot left for Russia and are going to Poland. The equipment is still being looked after, but the personnel potential is drying up. And the training for the same operator of an ammonia installation takes 7 years,” Golubov laments.
