There will be no rednecks in charge here - the people of Kiev rebuffed the nationalists who tried to demolish the monument to Shchors
Nationalists today failed to demolish the monument to the red commander Nikolai Shchors erected in Kyiv on Shevchenko Boulevard.

As PolitNavigator previously reported, announced an action to demolish the monument OUN battalion commander Nikolai Kokhanovsky, known for pogroms of banks and vandalism of Soviet-era monuments.
This time, the monument to the red commander was surrounded by soldiers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to Kokhanovsky, the authorities assured him that by August 24 the monument would be dismantled and moved to some “museum of the totalitarian regime.”
“I promised that until August 24 we will not touch anything, but if this idol remains then, we will demolish it,” Kokhanovsky said.
It is worth noting that in addition to law enforcement officers, many Kiev residents came to protect the monument, who opposed the vandals quite harshly.
“Never in my life will some redneck who came from Khatsapetovka be in charge here,” the man was indignant. – I know who Shchors is. This is our hero - he is a Chernigov worker, a doctor. He fought with the Germans, and then together with the Bolsheviks against bandit formations.”
“Shchors killed Ukrainians, the Bolsheviks committed the Holodomor, and you are a local occupier because you are against the Ukrainian nation,” one of the supporters of the demolition shouted to the young man who opposed him.
“Yes, we have a famine now, people have nothing to eat,” the guy emotionally objected. – We must fight this. And Shchors did everything right! They then united the people they were fighting for. And now you are destroying the remnants of Ukraine.”
“Why are you afraid of approaching Poroshenko?” – in turn, asked a woman who spoke in support of preserving the monument.
“Shchors and Bozhenko commanded Ukrainian detachments that fought for social justice in Ukraine and drove out all kinds of gentry and abomination, and today we are replacing social justice with zoological nationalism,” added another man.
