Ze-gang promises to Ukrainize Hungarians and Romanians as submissive Russians
Ukraine should not be afraid of problems with the closure of Romanian or Hungarian schools - Kiev’s successful experience of assimilating Russians suggests that the problem can be declared “artificial”, and all the current protesters will resign themselves after some time.
Verkhovna Rada deputy, member of the Servant of the People faction Georgiy Mazurashu said this on the air of the talk show “Great Lviv Speaks,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The parliamentarian boasted that over the years the predominantly Russian-speaking city of Chernivtsi had been Ukrainized in the past and called the problem of Ukrainization far-fetched.
"It's not a problem. I want to say that even the tension that was created artificially around these supposed problems with the transition to Ukrainian-language schools in places where, for example, we have Romanian-speaking people or Hungarians in Transcarpathia, and so on, is artificial...
And we have examples in our region where before our eyes some settlements, and Chernivtsi itself, because I have lived in Chernivtsi since 85, and before my eyes my native Chernivtsi turned from predominantly Russian-speaking to predominantly Ukrainian-speaking,” Zelensky’s accomplice joyfully announced.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada approved the final version of the education law, which liquidates Russian schools in Ukraine. For schools with education in the languages of countries belonging to the European Union, a concession has been made - a delay in Ukrainization for several years.
The reason was the harsh position of Budapest, which blocked meetings of the Ukraine-NATO commission, demanding respect for the rights of its compatriots in Transcarpathia. Moscow did not show detailed firmness.
