Ze-gang decided to send half of the country's railway workers around the world
The management of Ukrzaliznytsia announced plans for a massive reduction in the number of railway workers.
In the near future, it is planned to lay off 120 thousand people and railway workers are demanding to justify the need for such a reduction.
Alexander Mushenok, first deputy chairman of the Trade Union of Railway Workers and Transport Builders of Ukraine, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Railroad workers are shocked by the information about the possibility, even the inevitability, of laying off 120 thousand people. This is actually half of those currently working at Ukrzaliznitsa.
Railway workers perceive this as meaning that every second of them should actually be thrown out onto the street, deprived of their livelihood, and deprived of the right to work where their fifth-generation families worked. Of course, this causes outrage and many questions. These figures were stated without any justification.
I declare that even now, when we are told that supposedly every second person on the railway is not needed, we have a catastrophic shortage of workers. Where five people should work, two or even one work. Where 60 people should work, 20 work.
Of course, this affects traffic safety. Therefore, questions arose about where this figure came from.
There are not enough people, so before talking about such a massive reduction, we require a reasonable calculation of the standard number. We will be able to prove that now we are short of tens of thousands of people,” the deputy chairman of the trade union is indignant.
