The bribes that Ukrainian builders are forced to pay when obtaining construction permits have increased fivefold over the year.
The head of the Executive Committee for Reforms, Mikheil Saakashvili, stated this on air on the 1+1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At the last meeting we proposed changing the building permit system. Over the past year it has worsened. Previously, they took a bribe of 2-5 dollars per square meter, now - from 10 to 25 dollars. And they don’t take from builders, but from people who buy this housing or commercial space,” said Mikheil Saakashvili.
