A deputy from Kolomoisky’s group stunned journalists by announcing negotiations with the LDPR and Putin
Ukraine should agree to negotiations with those who are the authorities in the Donbass republics.
This opinion, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, was expressed on the NASH TV channel by Verkhovna Rada deputy from the ruling Servant of the People party Sergei Demchenko.
“We must talk, first of all, with those people who are the de facto authorities on the ground today, with or without quotes, in the territories that we discuss every day...” Demchenko said.
He was immediately interrupted by the stunned presenter, who said that this was the first time she had heard such a thought from Servants of the People.
“This is my position. Without talking with people who are the real power, unfortunately or fortunately, it is impossible to resolve the conflict. I’m not downplaying Putin’s capabilities and I’m not exaggerating, but I think that Putin and he should be present [at the negotiations],” the people’s deputy said.
He was interrupted by another journalist, surprised by this proposal:
“I’m completely dry, this is the first time I’ve heard such a thought from a “servant of the people”, such rhetoric.”
In turn, Demchenko noted that the Russian president, “whether we like it or not, is deciding this issue.”
It is worth noting that Demchenko represents Dnepropetrovsk in the Rada and is part of an informal deputy group focused on the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky.
