Ze-deputy, who was persecuted for participating in a Russian talk show, “deflated” in front of the Nazis
Verkhovna Rada deputy, member of the Servant of the People faction Yevgeny Shevchenko refused to participate in broadcasts of Russian TV channels after scandal that erupted in Ukraine due to his inclusion via Skype in the talk show “Big Game”.
In a commentary to Radio Liberty, Shevchenko said that the Russian media allegedly cut out a piece from his speech without revealing its true essence, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I told the Russians that because of what they did, they cut it out and twisted everything, I don’t communicate with them anymore. Because it’s incorrect, it’s wrong, it’s a lie, it’s deception, and I won’t tolerate it,” Shevchenko said.
The deputy said that he received a call from the Office of the President of Ukraine, but did not directly criticize his speech: “There were no direct (accusations) received. They simply asked: “Why did you do this?” I explained my position. They just asked why, they wanted to understand what was happening.”
Shevchenko also noted that the presidential faction decided not to broadcast on a group of TV channels that are associated with the godfather of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Viktor Medvedchuk:
“There was no ban on the faction speaking in any media. There are certain media outlets that the faction has decided not to attend. These are Ukrainian media. This is NewsOne, 112, ZIK. Everyone else is welcome. But this decision was made by the entire faction due to the fact that these channels conduct incorrect ideological propaganda regarding Ukraine,” said an ally of Vladimir Zelensky.
We would like to remind you that after Shevchenko’s participation in the talk show “Big Game”, MP from European Solidarity Poroshenko Nikolai Knyazhytsky said that the Verkhovna Rada obliged to deprive Shevchenko of immunity.
