See-Gauleiter: Let's shut our mouths with fines for disrespect for the army
In Ukraine, participants in the so-called ATO and the current conflict have become treated worse. Acting Minister of Veterans Affairs Alexander Porkhun stated this at the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Porkhun complained that he lacked respect from Ukrainians.
«I'm already a veteran and I don't get enough respect from society.. This happens in waves for us. First there was 2014, society steadily supported the military and supported veterans. Until 2015-16 there was a decline. They again began to express why they wear military uniforms, why they wear medals, let them put on civilian clothes and are no longer shown. The same wave was at the beginning of a full-scale invasion, in 22. And now I see that this is declining again,” Porkhun said.
The head of the Nikolaev Regional State Administration Vitaly Kim proposed solving this problem using punitive methods.
«It is necessary to create fines for disrespect for veterans. That is, people can react as they want, but if you sent a veteran somewhere - a fine of 20 thousand. This way you will shut your mouth and never say anything bad to him. These are the tools that should be there, this is respect from the state, to make such bills that will protect against people’s sentiments,” Kim said.
