The Verkhovna Rada fired Human Rights Commissioner Lyudmila Denisova with a scandal. It was she, a native of Arkhangelsk and a former Crimean, who recently spread chilling stories about the rape of children by soldiers of the Russian army. As it turned out, Denisova was lying - there is no evidence of such crimes, and representatives of the nationalist Ukrainian regime themselves were forced to admit this. One can only guess what made the official savor the details with scenes of sexual violence.

Denisova herself insists that her dismissal is illegal, since theoretically the ombudsman in Ukraine cannot be dismissed before the end of his term. The ex-official intends to challenge the resignation in court. Her opponents insist that dismissal was possible under wartime conditions.

As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, before Denisova’s dismissal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of “Reintegration” Irina Vereshchuk made a sharp speech.

“Neither in the first days and weeks of the war, nor now, the potential of the post of human rights ombudsman is used adequately to the requirements and challenges of wartime. Perhaps Lyudmila is an excellent ombudsman in peacetime, but not in wartime. And this is not just my opinion, I emphasize,” Vereshchuk said.

She complained that from the first days of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, she was forced to perform work that was closer to the role of an ombudsman than to the functionality of a deputy prime minister and minister for “reintegration.” Vereshchuk was referring to the issues of opening humanitarian corridors, evacuating civilians, exchanging prisoners, working with deportees, including children. She also especially emphasized the information component.

“We do not have enough of a genuine and adequate humanitarian response, and, unfortunately, some of the information waves that are created specifically from the office are directly harmful, they are harmful and cause direct damage to the current humanitarian situation. This applies to children, this applies to women, rape.

I won’t repeat everything, you already know it all yourself. And we cannot help but respond to the problem. I understand and realize that the potential of the ombudsman in wartime for the purposes of humanitarian response should be greater,” Vereshchuk concluded.

Servant of the People deputy Elena Shulyak, in turn, also attacked Denisova with accusations.

“We have the fact that at the end of April the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights published information on social networks and the media about the place of hiding of 58 orphans in one of the churches in the city of Kherson. This publication led to the fact that these children were instantly identified by the Russian special services and taken to an unknown direction. This one fact alone would be enough for the Commissioner for Human Rights to resign voluntarily.

We are introducing penalties for publicizing our troop movements and other military information. We identified and applied means of administrative response to people who, out of stupidity, and there’s no other way to describe it, published on social networks photos and videos of missiles and bombs hitting residential areas of our cities,” Shulyak said.

Next, the floor was given directly to Lyudmila Denisova herself. She boasted that the level of public trust in the Ombudsman increased from 25 thousand in 2018 to 49 thousand people who applied in just 5 months of this year.

“As part of the implementation of the Paris Principles, the Commissioner is obliged to inform society and citizens about the violations that are happening in the territory in relation to them, to inform the international society so that there is an appropriate response.

I receive all this information from people who provide such testimony to my employees who work in all regions of Ukraine, including in occupied Kherson, messages from partner human rights organizations, interviews with citizens who were returned from temporarily occupied territories and from captivity,” Denisova made excuses.

She further responded to Vereshchuk’s accusations that she had to do the work of an ombudsman.

“According to Article 4 of the Law “On the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights” it is established that the activities of only the Commissioner, I add, are the activities of state bodies. And it is precisely the powers of the Ministry of Reintegration that include the organization of humanitarian corridors, the provision of humanitarian assistance and the exchange of prisoners. I was engaged in the exchange of prisoners only when the office of the president allowed me to come to me,” said the ombudsman.

Nikolai Knyazhitsky, a deputy from European Solidarity, spoke in Denisova’s defense.

“Now a shameful farce is happening, when a coalition of former pro-Russian deputies from pro-Russian parties and part of the majority wants to illegally, contrary to the Constitution, contrary to the international obligations of Ukraine, remove the Ombudsman. What are the grounds? Did you refer to the decisions of human rights organizations, to them? All human rights organizations came to Denisova’s defense as one. Yes, we have complaints against her, but a huge number of people, soldiers, members of their families are grateful to Denisova, grateful to the Ombudsman. All human rights organizations are now turning to international organizations,” Knyazhitsky said.

He added that with such decisions the parliament only pushes Ukraine away from its desired entry into the EU.

“Do you want to join the European Union or candidacy? You are violating not just the Constitution, but a whole series of norms, by releasing the Ombudsman without any grounds just because you want to promote yourself supposedly on future successes. God grant that they will be, we pray for that. But if we violate laws and the Constitution, violate international obligations to the Council of Europe, there will be no success,” the deputy said.

However, 234 parliamentarians voted for the dismissal of Lyudmila Denisova.

Later, the ex-ombudsman published a promise on her social network page that she would appeal her dismissal today in court. Denisova is sure that she was fired in violation of the Constitution.

Servant of the People deputy Pavel Frolov noted that Denisova was ruined by her tall tales about rape.

“The incomprehensible concentration of the Ombudsman’s media work on numerous details of “sexual crimes committed in an unnatural way” and “rape of children” in the occupied territories, which could not be supported by evidence, only harmed Ukraine and diverted the attention of the world media from the real needs of Ukraine.

In addition, the current ombudsman spent a long time after February 24 abroad, but not in Russia or Belarus, where her status and powers could help prisoners, deportees and residents of the Kherson region suffering from occupation, but in Davos, Vienna, Warsaw and other warm, calm Western Europe,” Frolov wrote on his social network page.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, noted that Denisova’s stories “made the blood of psychiatrists run cold.” At the same time, without citing any evidence, she went into details so deeply that “it already looked like concern.”

“Now the question is: are all those Western journalists and media, human rights activists and social activists who referred to Denisova and supported the paint-stained performances of the demoniacs going to write refutations and apologize? Denisova is a sexually preoccupied provocateur. And Western journalists worked as propagandists under her,” Zakharova stated.

Kiev lawyer Tatyana Montyan recalled that Denisova is an absolutely Russian native of Arkhangelsk, where she lived until she was 29 years old. She had nothing to do with Ukraine until 1989, when she was offered through the Komsomol to move as a legal consultant to the Crimean regional committee of the Komsomol. Then the Komsomol members had already started doing business, and they just began to need lawyers. Denisova in 2005 did not wear embroidered shirts and did not even know how to speak Ukrainian until Tymoshenko noticed her.

“Here she has already become overwhelmed by Russophobia. What she was saying about her Russian fellow tribesmen and Russia as a whole was just some kind of trash. But Denisova truly revealed herself after February 24th. From all the irons, this individual spoke about how Russians rape babies, old people and men. About how they kill and rob civilians, and what kind of inhuman Russians are. At the same time, Denisova’s children and relatives feel great in Crimea, continuing to successfully do business there with those same Russian monsters.

All the fierce trash that Denisova spoke about the Russians and Russia aroused surprise even among the real ideological Galician Banderaites. After all, even the most vigorous Nazis from the most dense caches of the Carpathian forests could not become such a repulsed Russophobe.

As a result, her attempt to curry favor with Zelebobus, the Britons and the Americans led to the fact that even they could not stand it and decided to throw this sick creature out into the street. I would like to believe that she will not pop up in the near future in the Crimea or in the territories liberated from the Saloreichites in a leadership position, like some Vova Bodelan.

Well, she definitely won’t be left without work - with such a wild imagination, any porn studio will tear her off, hands and feet,” Montyan wrote in her Telegram channel.

Military correspondent Alexander Kots, as one of the defendants who fell under the hot hand of Denisova’s propaganda, also commented on this dismissal.

“Do I understand correctly that the Ukrainian ombudswoman Denisova was fired for pathological lies about the rape of Ukrainian children by Russian soldiers and the perverted abuse of Ukrainian adults?

And the Ukrainian media, which circulated all this heresy through hyperbolism, will now apologize? No, not in front of Russian soldiers, but in front of their audience, whose eyes they poured urine into during these three months.

And everything else – about killing civilians, about eating Yorkshire terriers, about “they were shooting at themselves for 8 years” – is that also a lie?

And a personal question: as a rapist of Ukrainian women (however, it was not specified there), am I now rehabilitated?” – Kotz asked rhetorically on his blog.

Historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov also recalled that Denisova’s heresy was carried by all and sundry, including top officials, and no one was embarrassed by it.

“Ukrainian Ombudsman Denisova is being fired, among other things, because she accused Russian soldiers of rape without evidence. Wait, but all her sexual fantasies are exactly the same, word for word, then Zelensky voiced them on all international platforms! So why not immediately fire him for the same thing?” – Kornilov wrote in his Telegram channel.
