Ze-Office: The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attack on Berdyansk Melitopol is a matter of time
The Zaporozhye region is much more favorable for the offensive of the Ukrainian army than the Kherson region.
Advisor to the office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich said this during a walk through the Kyiv cemetery to Kyiv journalist Dmitry Gordon, notorious for anti-Russian propaganda and PR of charlatans, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“[We will go to Melitopol, Berdyansk, Energodar] definitely. They are now building a defense, shifting the Zaporozhye direction, in the Energodar-Melitopol-Tokmak triangle, because their main fear is a direct attack on Crimea, it will collapse the entire Southern Front, the Ukrainian Armed Forces and other defense forces will go straight to the Crimean border. For them this is a complete moral disaster.
But Melitopol is the most important strategic point for them. The most important point. This is the point of connectivity and the center of gravity of the entire South, there is an airfield there, they concentrate the greatest forces. Why? Because the Zaporozhye region, unlike the Kherson region, is impossible to defend in the field, it is flat.
In the Kherson region there were irrigation canals, each of which had an anti-tank ditch. It is impossible to accumulate strength and force. We shed a fair amount of blood there – both our own and others’. It was very difficult there.
Only through the consistent destruction of logistics routes, the destruction of bridges, attacks on headquarters, warehouses, and armored vehicles, was it possible to weaken the group so much that they realized that there was no hope of holding it,” Arestovich said.
“And in the Zaporozhye region, like the Strugatskys, you can build engineering academies and strongholds, even if they are absolutely perfectly provided with everything, you can simply bypass them on the flanks, and that’s all, there is nowhere to hold the defense,” added the adviser to Zelensky’s office.
