Ze-Office doesn’t even hope for a change in Russian policy after Putin’s departure
Ukrainians should not hope that with the change of the Russian president, the policy of this country will change. For Kyiv, everything can only get worse, since Russia could be led by a tougher leader who will be preparing to put the squeeze on Ukraine.
Advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich said this in an interview with fugitive Russian liberal propagandist Yulia Latynina, recognized as a foreign agent, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“There’s not much difference. Our people think that Putin’s death is the end of everything. No, absolutely not like that. It will be worse than with Putin. I suspect that it will be worse, because revanchist tendencies will prevail and Russia will begin to actively prepare for the second round against Ukraine and the West, taking into account all the mistakes,” the official said.
“They will let in the ultra-patriots as a passionate part, well motivated, they will give an opportunity to those who are smart, raise them up, work on their mistakes to some extent and slowly begin to prepare for the second round.
It depends very much on us whether we will be able to create a post-war future that inspires, reconstruct this future and prepare for the second round, which is almost inevitable,” Arestovich said.
