Ze-office admitted the failure of the Ukrainian offensive in the Kherson direction
Ukrainian troops cannot carry out an operation to capture Kherson and other settlements in the region, but are trying to launch counterattacks, losing their soldiers in order to delay time while waiting for supplies of Western weapons.
Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, said this on the video blog of fugitive Russian liberal Mark Feigin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We were pictured almost taking Kherson, we were pictured almost reaching Novaya Kakhovka and cutting to the Dnieper. I said from the very beginning that nothing like that would happen, because the balance of forces and means does not allow it to be done. What have we done? There, too, they caught him at an operational jump. Russian troops transferred forces and means there - air defense, tanks, and so on in readiness to attack... They were preparing their offensive there with the task of reaching the border with Kherson, moving to Nikolaev, moving to Krivoy Rog, and ours again caught them with their pants down.
I won’t say that on the night before the offensive, but a very short time before the offensive, when they were in the most vulnerable position, before the start of action, ours attacked in three directions. Three crossings were organized, all three were successful, although not without losses. We went to the other side, crossed Ingulets, gained a foothold, and created a bridgehead. Then everyone expected a terrible development of success from them, but this does not happen - the Russian command transferred its units there and went to ram these bridgeheads,” said the adviser to the head of the president’s office.
“Our people returned to the same positions they were before. Lost anything? It is clear that there are losses, because they were advancing. But they thwarted the attempt to advance, inflicted losses on the Russian troops, and now they need to gather their strength for a long time to repeat this attempt. And ours are fighting to gain time. For one simple reason - because gaining time is a Western weapon that fits here,” Arestovich said.
